Karijini Tour Companies

Karijini National Park is more than 628,000 hectares of gorges, pools, waterfalls and natural beauty. While some people are happy to experience the gorges from the many viewing platforms and walk trails, there are local tour companies who can help you to discover more.

Lestok  – Karijini Day Tour

If you’re based in Tom Price and only have 1 day to see the best of the National Park, this tour’s for you. You’ll get picked up and driven in an air-conditioned bus to some of the best places in the park. As well as a detailed commentary, you’ll get to take in the views from Oxers and Knox Lookouts, and walk through Weano Gorge and Handrail Pool. You will need to wear sturdy footwear and take your swimming gear as there’s also an opportunity to swim in the picturesque Fern Pool.

Tours leave daily, include lunch and will collect you from your accommodation or the Tom Price Visitor Centre.
Bookings can be via (08) 9189 2032 or info@lestoktours.com.au

Lestok  – Rio Tinto Mine Tour

As well as the natural beauty of the Pilbara there’s also some impressive man made sights to check out. In an area known for its rich natural resources, the Rio Tinto mining company can take you on a tour right inside its mining operation. The tour lasts 1.5 hours and will introduce you to the main pit area, and the machinery and methods used to extract iron ore.

Air-conditioned transport leaves from the Tom Price Visitor Centre. Covered footwear is mandatory and bookings can be made via the Tom Price Visitor Centre.

West Oz Active Adventure Tours

West Oz Tours specialise in more rigorous day trips – so if you want to abseil into one of the gorges and mix nature and adventure, you will not be disappointed.

Some of the gorges are particularly tricky to get to and West Oz provide the specialist guides and equipment to help you go deeper. As well as roping in, this company can lead you ‘canyoning’ through the pools, where sometimes you’ll climb, other times float and paddle your way to otherwise restricted places.

For more information and bookings call Pete on 0438 913 713 – leave a message & he will get back to you on return from his day tour.
