The climate is the Pilbara is almost perfect with low humidity and an average maximum winter temperature of 28 degrees and 40 degrees in the summer.
During the summer months of October to March, the temperature can reach as high as 45 degrees and can sometimes get as low as 0 degrees during the winter season. The majority of rainfall is received during the summer months and is dependant upon the cyclone activity off the North West coast.
Tourist season usually goes from May through to October when the days are a sunny 28 degrees, though the nights can be cold.
When travelling through the Pilbara, particularly during the wet summer season, you need to monitor the rain activity as flash flooding, road closures and cyclones are common.
