The Karijini Experience 2017 will see over 30 new and exciting events over five days from Tuesday April 11 till Saturday April 15. Timed to coincide with the school holidays and the perfect Pilbara weather, the 2017 Karijini Experience has lots of opportunity for the whole family to get involved in the outback oasis of the Karijini National Park.
As well as many free, family friendly activities and workshops focused on art, culture and enrichment, there are plenty of opportunities to indulge in culture, music, food and art while immersing yourself in the stunning Karijini landscape:
The Wirlarra Rising on April 11 is the official opening of the Karijini Experience, be Welcomed to Country during the full moon rising with a spiritual ceremony followed by the music of Frank Yamma and other talented Pilbara artists.
The Opera in the Gorge will see the all Indigenous Wirlarra Ensemble perform with a WASO String Quartet on a spectacular natural stage within Kalamina Gorge on April 12 and 14.
The Culinary Experience on April 14 is sure to be a highlight, with Fervor presenting a three course fine dining experience under the stars with an exceptional line-up of entertainment, Theaker Von Ziarno an aerialist will perform on the trapeze, Mark Atkins didgeridoo virtuoso will perform a spine tingling performance with a WASO String Quartet, and DJ Gareth will wind this incredible night up with some dancing.
Respecting the capacity of the National Park to handle additional visitors means that tickets to the Karijini Experience are strictly limited. This is an exclusive event that allows people to experience this magnificent location in unexpected ways, immersing themselves in the landscape, the culture and the many sensual joys of the region.
